The extension of the Red Line from the Orient Train Station to the International Airport of Portela will create, at a 3.6 kilometers length, the new three metro stations of Moscavide, Encarnação and Airport. This great construction is headed by the consortium AEROMETRO ACE, comprised by the companies MONIZ DA MAIA, SERRA E FORTUNADO, EDIFER, ALVES RIBEIRO and OPWAY, counting with IBERGRU’S participation as the main construction equipment supplier. To this specific project, IBERGRU lent the following equipment: 6 (six) tower cranes of 5 (five) tons of capacity at the maximum radius; 3 (three) tower cranes of 8 (eight) tons of capacity at the maximum radius; 5 (five) tower cranes of 12 (twelve) tons of capacity at the maximum radius, and 2 (two) tower cranes of 18 (eighteen) tons of capacity at the maximum radius. The lengthening of the Red Line will not only improve both the access and mobility in the Oriental part of Lisbon city, but also allow commutation between the two main important national transportation networks, air and train. Lisbon’s Metro investment opportunity, allied to the quality of the project and technological capabilities of the involved companies assure this construction to be one of the reference projects in the European setting. |
